    Providence Family Support Center (PFSC) is pleased to partner with Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) to offer preschool and pre-K slots in the District’s Head Start Supplemental Assistance Program, a state-funded initiative that provides services to children between the ages of three and five.

    To participate in the program at PFSC, all District guidelines listed below must be followed:

    • Families must submit a complete Head Start application, including all required documentation. Children cannot enter into the program at PFSC unless a complete application is submitted.
    • Families must meet income guidelines and other criteria set by the PPS Head Start Program.
    • The program runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm. If you would like your child to eat breakfast at the center, you may bring them at 8:45am and they will be served with the rest of the class.
    • All children must be picked up by 3:00pm. If a child remains at the Center beyond 3:00pm, a $15.00 per day charge will be assessed to his or her account.
    • All children must arrive at the center by 10:00am unless there is a documented reason, such as a doctor’s note.
    • Children must be at least three years old upon entry into the program.
    • Children must be fully potty-trained (no diapers or pull-ups).
    • Children must attend the program a minimum of four days per week unless there is a documented medical reason for them not attending.
