Family Center Services

  • Family Center Services

The Northside Family Center at Providence Connections offers programming designed to partner with parents as they strengthen their families and encourage their children to reach their highest potential.

As part of a national movement committed to promoting healthy families, our focus is on prevention. We are here to fill the gaps that many families experience in their support systems while providing educational enrichment programs that improve parenting and essential life skills. Family support is not intended to be only for “at-risk” families; we believe that every family deserves help, support, and access to the resources needed to thrive.

Explore our core family services and community resources below:

    Family Programs

We offer an array of free, engaging programs designed to help families grow to their fullest potential while building community.

    • Family Unity Nights (F.U.N.) & Parent-Child Together Time: Monthly events featuring shared meals and family-strengthening activities.

    • Holiday Celebrations: Festive gatherings complete with themed meals, crafts, and entertainment to celebrate major holidays together.

    • Special Opportunities: Field trips, back-to-school supply drives, and the annual “Gifts of Providence.” Learn more about our Family Programs

    Community Support & Resource Hub

Our Community Hub is a physical safety net for our neighborhood. Open to the public in our reception area, the Hub offers free access to a rotating variety of clothing, shoes, household goods, and personal care items. This initiative is deeply supported by our multi-year university partnerships; students engaged in the La Roche Experience (LRX) curriculum actively coordinate campus support drives and lead distributions of our essential goods, ensuring that providing for our community is a shared, collective effort. Adult Education

To empower adults in their roles as parents, nurturers, and providers, we offer weekly enrichment classes held in six-week sessions during the Fall and Spring. Topics are directly responsive to the needs of our families and often include job readiness, budgeting, parenting, and self-improvement.

    Food & Other Resources

Access to reliable nutrition is a cornerstone of family wellness. To ensure no family goes hungry, we partner with dedicated Northside agencies to connect our community with comprehensive food resources. We actively help families navigate and access the Northside Common Ministries Food Pantry and the Cityview Church Community Food Bank, providing a bridge to emergency assistance, weekly groceries, and fellowship.
