Head Start Program

  • Providence Connections (PC) is pleased to partner with Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) to offer preschool and pre-K slots in the District’s Head Start Supplemental Assistance Program, a state-funded initiative that provides services to children between the ages of three and five, at no cost.
    Welcome to the Head Start Program at Providence Connections, a premier early education community offered in proud partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools. We focus on comprehensive school readiness, nurturing your preschooler's academic, social, and emotional growth while actively supporting your entire family's health and well-being.
    If you are looking for a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where your child can build confidence, make friends, and develop the foundational skills they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond, you have found your perfect match.

    To participate in the program at PC, all District guidelines listed below must be followed:

    • Families must submit a complete Head Start application, including all required documentation. Children cannot enter into the program at PC unless a complete application is submitted.
    • Families must meet income guidelines and other criteria set by the PPS Head Start Program.
    • The program runs from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
    • All children must be picked up by 3:00 pm unless you have made arrangements for childcare.
    • All children must arrive at the center by 9:00 am unless there is a documented reason, such as a doctor’s note, and no later than 12 noon.
    • Children must be at least three years old upon entry into the program.
