Pre-K Counts

  • Providence Connections (PC) is pleased to partner with Pittsburgh Public School (PPS) to offer PreK Counts, a full-day, state-funded pre-kindergarten program that provides services to children between the ages of three and five.
    Welcome to the Pre-K Counts program at Providence Connections, offered in proud partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools. Imagine a vibrant, welcoming classroom where your little one enjoys plenty of one-on-one attention from expert teachers thanks to our small class sizes.
    Through an engaging curriculum tailored to their unique progress, we focus on both academic and social growth, ensuring they have the confidence and skills to easily transition into kindergarten. If you are looking for a nurturing, high-quality environment that will spark your child’s curiosity and build a lifelong love of learning, look no further.
    PA Pre-K Counts classrooms will:
    • Have teachers with the education and expertise to teach young children
    • Use a curriculum that will help your child grow academically and socially
    • Regularly review your child’s progress and choose teaching and learning activities that are best for your child
    • Help you and your child adjust to Pre-K and smoothly move on to kindergarten
    • Offer a small class size so your child can have plenty of one-on-one time with the teachers.
    To participate in the program at PC, all District guidelines listed below must be followed:
    • Families must submit a complete PreK Counts application, including all required documentation. Children cannot enter into the program at PC unless a complete application is submitted.
    • Families must meet income guidelines and other criteria set by the PPS PreK Counts Program.
    • The program runs from 08:00 am to 3:00 pm.
    • All children must be picked up by 3:00 pm unless you have made arrangements for childcare.
    • All children must arrive at the center by 9:00 am unless there is a documented reason, such as a doctor’s note, and no later than 12 noon.
    • Children must be at least three years old, at the beginning of the school year, to be eligible for the current program year.
