Community Support & Resource Hub
At Providence Connections, we believe that “Providence” is a verb—it is the active, daily work of providing a safety net of support, education, and care for families. Building that safety net is not something we do alone. It requires a collective, community-wide response to systemic challenges, poverty, and need.
Our Community Support & Resource Hub is the physical expression of this shared calling, brought to life every day through immersive service-learning, dedicated corporate partnerships, and neighborhood stewardship.
Championed by Community Partners
Sustaining our programs requires deeply integrated, year-round collaboration. We are incredibly grateful for the long-standing support of community pillars like PNC, who have championed our mission for years. Through initiatives like the PNC Grow Up Great program, their sustained commitment—which has included the distribution of educational gift cards directly into our early childhood programs—ensures we can consistently enrich the lives of the children and families we serve.
Driven by Service-Learning
As an organization founded by the Sisters of Divine Providence, our history is inextricably linked to the mission of La Roche University. We see our Hub not just as a place to distribute goods, but as a vital training ground for active citizenship and empathy.
Through immersive service-learning programs like the La Roche University Experience (LRX) course, college students dedicate an entire semester to working alongside our staff and families. This partnership moves far past “transactional” service and into the practice of accompaniment. Through campus essential supply drives and coordinating hands-on projects—such as student-led distributions of personal care and makeup kits—these students help us build a true “Culture of Care” while preparing themselves for compassionate leadership in a global society.

The Hub: Resources in Action
-
The generosity of our corporate sponsors, the dedication of our university students, and vital partnerships with organizations like World Vision all come together in our reception area. Here, the Community Resource Hub is open for anyone to visit and shop for essentials at absolutely no cost.
Thanks to reciprocal resource sharing, our Hub is regularly stocked with:
-
-
Essential Goods & Care Items: Through World Vision and our student-led distributions, we offer household essentials, hygiene products, toiletries, and specialized care kits.
-
Clothing & Apparel: Sourced from the stewardship of local donors, we keep a variety of clothing sizes from infant to adult, often including winter coats, shoes, and everyday wear.
Get Involved: Give to the Hub
We rely on the continued stewardship of our neighborhood to keep our shelves stocked! We are always accepting direct donations for the Hub.
(Please note: to manage our space and current needs, we are unable to accept off-season clothing, undergarments, used toys, and large household items. Thank you for your understanding!)
