Providence Connections is thrilled to announce that the Ainsworth Foundation has approved a generous grant of $50,000.00. This significant investment will be used to broadly improve our facilities—including our upcoming Playground Reimagination Project—and expand our vital support systems. These comprehensive updates will strengthen our organization from the inside out while breathing new life into our outdoor spaces, creating a safe, vibrant, and engaging environment for the children and families we serve.
Expanding Support for Our Families
At Providence Connections, our mission goes beyond childcare; it is about holistic family support and community enrichment. By directing funds toward subsidies and tuition assistance, we ensure our high-quality care remains accessible to those who need it most. Furthermore, allocating funds for salaries and benefits allows us to continuously support the exceptional educators and staff who guide our children every day.
Alongside these essential pillars, outdoor play is a cornerstone of early childhood development, fostering physical health, social skills, and creative exploration. By funding this project, the Ainsworth Foundation is directly investing in the well-being of our children while driving a massive, comprehensive improvement for our organization as a whole. This revamped playground will elevate our entire facility, serving as a vital community hub and ensuring we continue to offer a secure, vibrant, and enriching environment where families can gather, connect, and grow together.
Guided by Dedicated Leadership
This project was made possible in large part through the dedication and advocacy of Providence Connections Board Member, Dr. Francis Amrit Gandhi. A champion for local families, Gandhi was instrumental in connecting Providence Connections with this funding opportunity and advocating for the needs of the community.
“Securing this grant is a huge milestone for our organization and the families we serve,” Gandhi shared.
“Becoming a father recently has deepened my understanding of how vital safe and supportive spaces are for a child’s development. Because I work right here on the Northside, this community holds a very special place in my heart. I see the resilience, the potential, and the very real needs of our neighbors every day. I am incredibly excited to support the Northside community and play a small part in uplifting Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable children through the joy and safety of this new playground.”
While this is a one-time award from the Foundation, its impact will be felt by our children—and our broader Providence community—for years to come.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Ainsworth Foundation for their partnership and belief in our mission.
