Early Childhood Program

  • As one of our core initiatives, Providence Connections offers a full range of child care services. Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and accredited as a Keystone STARS 4 facility, PC provides a clean, attractive, safe, secure and comfortable environment where children thrive.

The Center has seven separate classrooms (see chart below) specifically designed to address the developmental needs of each age group. Each class follows a consistent daily schedule and weekly lesson plan that touches on the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards and addresses learning levels of the children.

    A DAY IN THE PROGRAM

A healthy breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are provided for children. Infants are provided with formula, cereal, baby food and snacks. A report informing parents of Infants and Young Toddlers about their child’s food intake, nap times and diapering schedule is prepared daily. Please visit each classroom’s page to learn more about their day.

    OUR STAFF

PC’s Child Care staff is trained in early childhood education and is always involved in ongoing learning. Lead teachers possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and/or Elementary Education.

The staff works closely with each child’s parents or guardians to ensure specific needs are met, communicating daily as well as through periodic parent-teacher conferences. Staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross.

Providence Connections, Inc. is partnering with Men’s Wearhouse to launch its 12th annual Suit Drive, a month-long initiative that collects gently-used professional clothing for Americans transitioning back into the workforce. Throughout the month of July, donations collected at Men’s Wearhouse stores will be distributed to Providence Connections, Inc. and more than 150 other local non-profit organizations across the country that help disadvantaged individuals regain employment through job readiness programs and workforce assistance. Over the past 11 years, the Suit Drive has collected more than 2 million items of clothing.

“It is a privilege to work with Men’s Wearhouse and support men and women determined to move forward professionally,” said Peter Jenkins of Providence Connections, Inc. “Our mission is to provide tools and assistance to Pittsburgh residents pursuing valuable training and career development, and donations from the Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive help them suit up and enter an interview with the mindset to secure the opportunity they desire.”

Starting July 1, residents of Pittsburgh can donate their gently-used professional clothing, including men’s and women’s suits, ties, jackets, shirts, pants, belts and shoes at any Pittsburgh area Men’s Wearhouse. As a thank you, donors will receive 50 percent off their next purchase of regular priced retail items (excluding shoes, clearance, custom and Exceptional Value items).

Were proud of the role our teams and stores play to lead this important national initiative, said Carrie Ask, President of Mens Wearhouse. “As we enter our eleventh year, we are thrilled to partner with Providence Connections, Inc. to collect more donations than ever before and help men and women fulfill their goals.”

Thank you to Mens Wearhouse for selecting us to be a site for your suit drive donations. We are also lucky to have our PNC volunteers here helping us organize everything.
